Bang Tao beach is 5 min drive west and Surin beach and Kamala approx
20min southwest, as is Nai Thong beach and Nai Yhang 20-25min northwest,
all ideal for swimming, windsurfing etc, all have open air restaurants,
Khao beach, 3km west of the airport constitutes a national park
because giant turtles come ashore between October and February to
lay there eggs.
Approximately
20 km from Thalang Town is Patong a busy tourist resort and further
south are Karon, Kata and Nai Harn beaches before reaching the southern
most tip of the island, Laem Promthep, the cape is one of the islands
top beauty spots at sunsets.

Beach restaurants serve food usually until midnight. Most restaurants
serve food until midnight but the street markets serve food 24hrs.
